Two treatments one goal less pain
We offer two types of injections for muscle and joint pain. Both are performed in-office, take only a few minutes, and include the cost of medication.
Cortisone Injection
A corticosteroid (cortisone) is injected directly into the affected joint or bursa to reduce inflammation and relieve pain — delivering the medication exactly where it's needed with minimal systemic side effects.

TREATMENT AREAS
Knee
Relieves pain and inflammation from osteoarthritis, bursitis, or knee joint injury. One of the most common and effective cortisone injection sites.
Shoulder
Targets the shoulder joint or bursa to relieve pain from rotator cuff issues, shoulder bursitis, adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), or arthritis.
Bursa — Lateral Hip
Treats trochanteric bursitis — the outer hip pain that typically worsens with walking, climbing stairs, or lying on the affected side. A cortisone injection into the bursa reduces inflammation and often provides rapid relief.

Trigger Point Injections
A fine needle is inserted directly into a painful muscle trigger point — a tight "knot" of muscle that won't relax on its own — and a small amount of medication is injected to deactivate it, interrupt the pain cycle, and provide relief.

WHAT IS A TRIGGER POINT?
Trigger points are painful, hyperirritable areas in muscle that form when muscles do not relax and develop a tight, palpable "knot." They can cause local pain and also referred pain — discomfort felt in a completely different area of the body. Common trigger point locations include the neck, upper back, shoulders, and lower back.
Up to 5 areas per visit
Multiple trigger point areas can be treated in a single appointment — allowing comprehensive relief across the neck, shoulders, upper back, and more in one visit.

The procedure itself takes only a few minutes per area. Most patients return to normal daily activities immediately after treatment

Consultation & Evaluation
Dr. Zamorano reviews your symptoms, medical history, and the affected area to confirm that an injection is appropriate for you and to identify the precise location to treat.

Site Preparation
The injection site is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. For trigger point injections, Dr. Zamorano palpates the area to precisely locate each knot before injection.

The Injection
A fine needle delivers the medication — cortisone for joint and bursa injections, or a local anesthetic (and/or medication) for trigger points. The procedure takes only a few minutes and most patients find it very tolerable.

Aftercare Instructions
We review what to expect in the days following your injection — including normal temporary soreness, activity guidance, and when to expect the full effect of the medication.

Return to Your Day
Most patients return to normal daily activities immediately. We recommend avoiding strenuous activity for 24–48 hours following a cortisone injection, and staying hydrated after trigger point treatment.

Good candidates & what to know first
Injections work best when the pain is coming from a clearly identified joint, bursa, or muscle trigger point. A brief consultation helps confirm the right treatment for your specific situation.
You may be a good candidate if you have:

Injections may not be recommended if you have:

A bleeding disorder or are on anticoagulant therapy

A known allergy to the medication used in the injection

Joint pain requiring imaging or surgical evaluation — we'll provide a referral

Uncontrolled diabetes (cortisone can temporarily raise blood sugar — discuss with Dr. Zamorano)

One flat fee covers both the procedure and the cost of medication. No hidden charges. A superbill is provided for possible insurance reimbursement.

All fees are due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. A superbill is provided so you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Initial Consulation
Required for all new patients before proceeding with an injection. Dr. Zamorano evaluates your area of pain, reviews your health history, and confirms the appropriate treatment.
